Dr. Rashna Ginwalla is a board-certified, fellowship-trained General Surgeon with over a decade of experience spanning general surgery, trauma surgery, surgical critical care, global health systems, and academic medicine. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, holds an MD from USC Keck School of Medicine and an MPH in Global Health from the University of Arizona, and has trained at some of the country's most demanding surgical programs, including Temple University Hospital, Johns Hopkins and the University of Maryland.

She founded Clearwater Advanced Surgical Associates with one goal: to practice surgery on her own terms, with the independence to always put patients first, close the referral loop, and build the kind of practice where both patients and providers know and trust exactly who is taking care of them.

CASA is here to bring independent, patient-centered, community- based, cutting- edge, empathetic surgical care to the Treasure Valley.

Dr. Ginwalla sees patients soon, but patiently; she answers the phone. She answers your questions thoroughly, and makes sure you understand your condition and its treatments to the fullest extent. And she brings fellowship-trained skill and precision to every procedure, to every patient.

For referring practitioners, that means a surgeon you can trust to take excellent care of your patients and keep you informed every step of the way. Consultation reports are returned within 24 hours of patient visits. Communication is direct, transparent, and clear; practitioner to practitioner. Your patient stays your patient.

Hannah Coleman, CMA

My name is Hannah. I graduated from Medical Career Academy and obtained my national certification as a Medical Assistant in April 2026. I have extensive experience in customer service, and I draw much of my purpose in healthcare from connecting with my patients and being able to support them throughout their healthcare journey—from the moment we first meet, through their recovery at home and follow up visits. 

My strengths and interests led me to pursue a career in healthcare after having my two children. Outside of work, I enjoy being a mom, a wife, photography, spending time in nature, and going to the movies with my Family.

I look forward to continuing my education and developing my skills in General Surgery while growing both personally and professionally in the healthcare field. 

Katie Hernandez, LPN

Katie is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with nearly 15 years of clinical experience spanning family medicine, cardiology, and most recently general surgery. Throughout her career, she has developed a strong commitment to patient advocacy and believes that exceptional care begins with trust, communication, and meaningful relationships with every patient.

With a broad clinical background and a passion for providing personalized care, Katie brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the practice. She is particularly excited to continue expanding her expertise in the surgical field and to contribute to the growth of an independent clinic dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and an elevated healthcare experience.

A lifelong resident of the Treasure Valley, Katie is proud to call the community home. Her roots run deep in the area, having grown up spending summers on the farm, participating in 4-H, and showing at local county fairs. These experiences fostered a lasting appreciation for community, hard work, and the people who make the Treasure Valley special.

Outside of the clinic, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband, their boys, and their two doodle pups. She loves making the most of Idaho’s beautiful summers, whether camping, floating the river, paddle boarding, or simply spending time outdoors with her family. A proud Boise State alumna and devoted Athletic Club Boise fan, Katie can often be found cheering from the stands and enjoying the many sporting events and activities the Treasure Valley has to offer.

CASA means "home," and that's intentional.

Dr. Ginwalla's career has been shaped by a commitment to the communities she serves, from founding a violence intervention program in one of California's most underserved regions to teaching Stop the Bleed courses in Eagle, Idaho.

She is building a practice that serves the full Treasure Valley community, including those who face barriers to timely surgical care. Information about sliding-scale payments and community care programs will be available as the practice grows.
